At About Your Talent, we are partnering with a healthcare scale-up to identify their next Director of Operations & Transformation (COO). This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with a key mandate to professionalize the organization, drive operational excellence, and lead the execution of the company's next stage of growth.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming the business into a scalable, process-driven organization, working closely with the CEO, the Board of Directors, the clinical leadership team, and key strategic partners.
Mission of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company's operational transformation, designing and implementing a scalable operating model capable of supporting sustainable growth.
This individual will play a key role in translating the company's strategic vision into clear execution plans by establishing robust governance structures, operational processes, performance management systems, and reporting frameworks while preserving the agility and entrepreneurial mindset that define a fast-growing scale-up.
In addition, this role will act as the central point of coordination for the company's most strategic initiatives, aligning business, clinical and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
This is a broad leadership role that combines organizational transformation, operational excellence and hands-on execution.
Operating Model Design and Organizational Transformation
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable operating model that supports the company's continued growth. This will include defining governance structures, operational processes, decision-making frameworks and performance management systems that enable efficient execution across the organization.
The role will also lead the professionalization of the business by establishing clear roles, responsibilities and accountability mechanisms, reducing operational dependency on the founders while building a strong foundation for long-term growth.
Strategic Project Execution
The Director of Operations & Transformation will lead the execution of the company's key strategic initiatives, including hospital partnerships, clinical implementations, new service launches and operational improvement projects.
This includes developing detailed project plans, defining milestones, budgets, responsibilities and KPIs, monitoring execution, proactively identifying risks and ensuring that strategic initiatives are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.
Operational Excellence and Clinical Quality
Working closely with the clinical leadership team, the successful candidate will help standardize clinical and operational processes while supporting continuous improvements in patient experience, quality and safety.
The role will contribute to the implementation of clinical governance structures, operational standards and performance monitoring systems that ensure sustainable growth without compromising clinical excellence.
Performance Reporting and Business Intelligence
The successful candidate will lead the development of robust reporting frameworks that provide visibility across operational, financial, commercial and clinical performance.
This includes designing dashboards, KPIs and management reports that support informed decision-making by the executive team and the Board of Directors.
Supporting Business Growth
Working alongside the CEO, this role will support the company's expansion strategy by contributing to business planning, budgeting, financial analysis and the evaluation of new growth opportunities.
The position will also play an important role in developing strategic partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem while ensuring that operational decisions remain aligned with long-term value creation.
Organizational Development and Leadership
The successful candidate will build and strengthen the operational capabilities required to support the company's next stage of growth. This includes identifying talent needs, developing organizational structures and implementing management practices that foster accountability, collaboration and execution excellence.
Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences or a related field. An MBA or other postgraduate qualification will be considered a strong advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, transformation, hospital management, corporate development or consulting within the healthcare sector.
Proven experience leading complex operational transformation and organizational change initiatives.
Experience working with hospitals, healthcare providers or highly regulated healthcare environments.
Strong background in implementing operating models, governance structures, KPIs and management reporting systems.
Experience in strategic planning, budgeting and business performance management.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work effectively with executive leadership teams.
Previous experience within a high-growth or scale-up environment will be highly valued.

Willingness to travel to partner hospitals and healthcare organizations as required.
